LEGO® Creations from the North

Cold enough for ya?
Adult Fans of LEGO® are particularly active in Canada.
Here is a pictorial overview of some of the work of John Koob.
As a member of the Northern Alberta LEGO® Users Group, he
has included some material from recent model railroading shows.

All custom models shown are original creations built that were
built using unmodified LEGO® elements.
LEGO Rotary Hopper Dumper In 2003, I built a Rotary Hopper Dumper
for NALUG's LEGO train layout at the
Great Edmonton Model Train Show in Alberta,
Canada. Entirely built out of LEGO parts,
it can dump hopper cars without decoupling.
Large Technic Crane My Tower Crane took one year to design and build.
It's fully functional, Mindstorms powered,
and entirely constructed out of LEGO parts.
Supertrain 2001 The NALUG layout at the Supertrain 2001 model train
show in Calgary featured a number of creations by
John Koob. He was one of the fortunate NALUG
members who were able to attend.
Mobile Explorer This model was the "Grand Prize Winner" in the first
annual Classic Space Design and Build Contest.
Thanks to everyone who voted for this model!
