Natural Nail Care Maintenance- at Home

1.File the free edge of your nails using a 240 grit nail file only. File the free edge as needed when you have a
snag or tear or when you need to shorten the length. It is preferable that you file the nail more square as
opposed to oval to give added strength in the stress area.

2.Once a week push back your cuticles using an orangewood stick or other wooden stick. You can do this
after showering or you can apply a cuticle oil before doing this. Never force the cuticle back when it is dry
or this could cause damage. Overgrown cuticles can result in hangnails.

3.Use a natural nail & cuticle oil on a daily basis. Natural oils, such as Vitamin E, Rice Bran, and Avocado Oil
have long lasting benefits for the skin and nails. When used on a regular basis they will keep the natural nail
plate hydrated and retentive, making them less likely to break. The natural oils are also very beneficial to
the cuticle and surrounding skin, keeping it smooth and pliable. This is a "must have" treatment for every
nail care kit. It is equally important to use a natural nail & cuticle oil when wearing artificial nails. By using a
nail oil on a regular basis this helps to prolong the life of your enhancements by providing retention
(flexibility) to the artificial product.

4.Always protect your natural nails with a clear strengthener or polish. Be sure to choose a nail strengthener
that is suited for your nail type or this could result in adverse reactions. You can wear this as a base coat
when polishing or alone as a clear coat on the nail.

5.Keep a top coat handy to spruce up your polish in between manciures. You can apply the top coat every
few days to extend the wear of your polish and to provide a glossy sheen to your nails once again.

6.Keep the nails clean especially when wearing a free edge. Bacteria can become trapped under the free edge
of the nail very easily. It is important to scrub your nails on a daily basis to keep them clean. You can use a
special manicure brush to do this with.
