Since 1991, The Mysterons have been pluming the depths of "instrumental" music looking for a nasty groove. The group was founded by Schatzie Boneslide (guitar, bass) and Mr. Fist (guitar, bass, keyboards) after spending too much time watching old Herschell Gordon Lewis films and reruns of The Munsters. The sound that came forth from these influences resembled some kind of horribly bastardized combination of Link Wray and Throbbing Gristle. Early recordings were done with a shitty drum machine and no overdubs or post production. Some of these early demo recordings have since been collected for the Demo Train double CD-R.

In 1992, a human drummer, Teeter 'n' Rock, was recruited for two recording sessions which resulted in the limited cassette releases Golden Showers and 101 Guitars (both remastered and release on CD-R). Teeter didn't have much of a stomach for the ghoulish direction the group was taking, so he ran away to leave the group beatless until the recording of the 1994 cassette Velvet Walls (also re-released on CD-R). For this recording, the group was joined by the ever inebriated Bobby Vegas on drums. As well, the master of noise, Corndog, became a permanent fixture in the group.

Around this time, work was also completed on a short 8mm horror film entitled Wheels - The Race Is On. Various friends of the band were recruited to be victimized on screen for this bit of self indulgence. The film was screened in public once at the Video In on Halloween, 1994. The year was then completed with the recording of the limited edition cassette, El Santos, which was given away as an Xmas present to an unlucky few. Both El Santos and the soundtrack to Wheels have been recompiled for the CD-R, Boozin' Fucking & Fightin'.
