A rather
unremarkable show that probably shouldn't have happened and
nearly didn't. Schedules didn't allow for any rehearsal prior
to the show, which was the main reason the show was almost canceled.
After some internal negotiations, it was agreed to forge ahead
and fuck rehearsing, but that wasn't the end of troubles. Pancake
nearly lost his drums in transit and the rest of the band had
a hell of a time trying to get to a downtown gig in rush hour
traffic which was aggravated by a shooting that closed off a
major street. It wasn't even possible for the band to sound
check with a full compliment, so the show would go on "cold"
with the group not having been in the same room for nearly six
months.
The crowd
at this "fashion show" & performance was not really
looking to rock out. A few of the band's crew did manage to
make it out and that helped at least keep spirits up and there
was enough booze to get the band to the point where all could
at least have fun, whether the audience cared or not. And fun
they did have and they didn't sound too bad either, all things
considered. Things did collapse into shambles on the last song
thanks to flagrant drunkenness, but no one cared by that point
anyway.
