This was
the first ever public live performance of The Mysterons. Corndog
hadn't fully joined the fray yet, so the live sound effects
were actually controlled by the DJ hosting the show. He was
given a VCR and tape to patch into the mixer and told to just
play the tape and bleed in the signal between songs and over
top of them from time to time. The results were surprisingly
effective upon review of the tape of the show.
The band
performed in a small room which was usually used as a staff
lounge. There wasn't much space and the audience was invisible.
Overall, the effect was rather "other worldly" as
can be heard in the off air recording done by Rob Handel. This
recording is currently pending release as Live
At UBC.
