Drive-Train Specifications
In 1965 the Acadian Beaumont retained the sales-winning style it had set in the previous year for the intermediate model size cars. "Styling-refinements" are the best way to describe appearance changes for the '65 model year. New mouldings, spears and other distinctive ornamental changes appear throughout the Beaumont line-up.
Styling: New grille treatment. New front fenders. New hood styling. New front bumper styling with air slots. New horizontal ribbed taillights. New vinyl interior trim. New nameplate plaque. Fifteen exterior colours - 13 new.
Body: Heavier body mounts. Front end sheet metal rubber mounted.
Chassis: Improved rear suspension isolation. Smother ride achieved through use of larger bushing in the suspension control arms. Additional changes include, lower rate front and rear springs and low profile tires.
Power Trains: Quieter operating standard Econoflame Six. Optional 230 cid Econoflame Six with 140 HP providing smother operation. New cylinder heads and a new larger diameter single exhaust system for the 250 HP 327 cid Econoflame V8. Oil-wetted paper filter for all V8 cleaners. 4 speed shift lever now has greater seat clearance.
