Statistic criteria

You can create a list with statistic criteria and then associate various applications or Web sites with these criteria. Once you do that you would be able to generate statistical graphs into an Excel workbook. You must have MS Excel installed on the computer.

This is an example of statistics output for one week:

The workbook has two sheets: one which displays statistics about applications and another one with Web usage statistics.

This is the panel where you have to enter statistic criteria ("categories"):

Use the "Add new category" button   (located on top-right corner above the list). A new empty entry in the list will be created with a default ID. You have to type the category name.

To remove a category from list, select it in the list then press "Delete selected category" button .

You can add items in the "Items assigned to categories list" using the associated two buttons from top right, but this is not the preferred way to do it. The preferred way is to go in Activity page, load activities and then use right click menu and select "Add to statistics" option. This menu option is present for "Launch and finish applications" and "Browse web" activities.

When you press "Save" or "Save All" buttons on main toolbar, the content of both lists is saved.

Use "Export statistics criteria to XML file..." button from the main toolbar  to export both lists into an XML file (.XML). With "Import statistics criteria from XML file..." button from the main toolbar  you can populate both lists with data previously stored in an XML file. When importing, existing items are deleted and replaced with the ones stored in XML file.

If you click on the column headers then the list is sorted alphabetically according to clicked column.

Remark: when you start DM Net Time & Watch Administrator the statistics are not loaded by default (to maximize performance). When you select "Statistics" panel the statistic criteria and assigned items are fetched from server and placed in the lists. In this context the "server" is the computer where the activity is restricted / monitored.

On top of this panel is a large combo-box which contains the users which you selected in "All users" panel. You can click on the small arrow on the right side of combo box to open the list of selected users. Statistic categories or the assigned items are not specific for a particular user. You have to select one user only when you want a chart to be generated for that user.

In order to be able to generate a chart all the following conditions must be true:

To generate the chart the "Chart" button must be pressed. The date range may be set before (default interval is the last 7 days).
