Matching
Ceiling Texture

Things You'll Need
Sand Texture Additive
Paint
Primer
Solution:
You've made the repair in your ceiling, but now you have
to match the sand texture. Well, it's not as difficult as
you might think, I'll show you how.
The key is a sand texture additive, there are many brands
on the market and you can pick them up anywhere you buy
paint.
For the brand I'm using you mix four ounces of texture
into a quart of paint. Use that as your guide and adjust
according to how much you'll need for your repair.
Read the directions that come with your texture to get the
right measurements. A tip; combine the two in a plastic
zipper bag for minimal mess.
Once the paint and texture are mixed together, wait a half
hour before you apply the paint. I already primed this
repair. Just make sure that it dries thoroughly so that it
is sealed and ready to paint.
Apply the sanded paint to the repair feathering it into
the sides so that it blends evenly with the surrounding
paint.
Depending upon your ceiling you may need two coats. |
