Choosing Colors For Home

Choosing colors for home decoration is indeed an art and is not everyone's cup of tea. It requires knowledge about the different paint colors flooding the market. Interior color shades are distinct from exteriors. So, gather more information about home decoration and color scheme by surfing net or check out some home décor magazines.

The color palette encompasses multiple shades and you are bound to get confused while shopping for the paint color. Go in for something that represents your personal style and attitude. If you are simple and sober then light colors like the versatile white is likely to please you. Other good options can be beige, fawn, crème, light gray etc. If you want to try out something different, you can opt for brighter shades like red, blue and green.

If you like contrast ideas then you can maintain two color scheme with one color taking the center stage and the other color to add on some sparkling effect to it. But then take care that both the colors should not be in the equal proportion. For example a good combo of dark blue on three walls with light beige shade on the fourth wall would look simply fabulous. Its neither too vibrant and nor too sober.

Your house location is another determinant that should be kept in mind while choosing the interior exterior color. If the location is non sun facing and you crave for that single ray of sun for getting warmth in winters, then the best idea is to go in for a nice bright shade like yellow and orange to reduce the dullness. For very sun facing apartment, try out a cool cozy color like ocean blue or sea green. Go about experimenting with different colors and give your home a new refreshing look.
