KNOTS USED FOR MAKING A LOOP TO LOOP NYLON LEADER

Double Surgeons Knot

Step 1 Use only quality leader material EG. Mason or any other good 25-30lb. leader material. Fairly stiff material works best as it is more abrasion proof and helps to turn your large flies over better. Cut about 6-7' of it off
Step 2 You will now tie in a double surgeon's knot at each end. This is a very simple knot to tie and it works well. There are other knots that work just as well, but I have found over the years this one works just as well and is the easiest to tie for beginners.
See pictures 1,2, 3 and 4.

Perfection Knot (The second good knot to use is the Perfection Knot.)

Step 1 Use the same size of leader material as above and length.
See pictures 1,2,3,4, and 5.

Figure Eight Knot (The third knot that is very useful is the Figure 8 knot.)

This is the knot that I use to attach all my flies to my steel leaders. I have never had one of them come loose and they are easy to tie.
