resolve current conflicts, avoid violence, find peaceful solutions and
to make our world a better place to live.

India Club of Vancouver,

will join hands in celebrating Gandhi Jayanti on October 2nd and of this

The Thakore Visiting Scholar Award
Jennifer Simons, for her work on
nuclear disarmament, peace and human rights.
celebration will be in the form of two events:
Garlanding Ceremony will be held on Friday, October 2nd, 2015 at the
bust of Mahatma Gandhi located in the Peace Square on the Burnaby campus
(south side level 3 of the Academic Quadrangle) from
6:45pm - 7:30pm.

open to the public. A small reception will be held after the
garlanding ceremony in the James Douglas room at SFU.

Gandhi Student Peace Award and the 24th annual
Thakore Visiting Scholar Award at the Gandhi Commemorative Lecture
on Thursday, October 1st, 2015 at Simon Fraser University, Harbour Centre,
