Way back in 1989, the members of Juba decided to enter the Christmas carolling scene. The resulting new group, The Revellers, includes Lark, Kelly, Beth and Scott from Juba, plus tenor Colin deBourcier of Pro Coro Canada. Our Christmas repertoire includes traditional carols, obscure (but very merry) tunes from the Middle Ages, and popular modern seasonal songs.
In the winter of '95, we were getting sick and tired of performing background music in shopping malls. We decided to organize a small concert, and invited our new friends The Griffin Consort (Gordon Ritchie, Celtic harp; Christine Hanson, cello; and Bill Damur, flute/recorder) to join us. The place was packed, and the audience and performers had so much fun that we knew it was a match made in heaven. Almost before the applause had died out, we made plans for the future -- to record a CD together in the summer and perform six more concerts in the winter of '96. We performed together again in the winter of '97, but sadly haven't been able to get our "act" together since then.
