Celtic music has recently reached giddy and unprecedented heights of popularity. It was not always thus. Hundreds of years ago playing the pipes was even against the law! Now, piping and drumming is enthusiastically accepted as a mainstream musical form and influence in society.

Celtic music of the pipes and drums depends strongly on leaders teaching, inculcating and interpreting for their pupils. Once again, we have arranged outstanding and excellent clinic instructors for the upcoming WORKSHOP. Please plan to attend.

Roger Ball

It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Roger Ball on Tuesday, March 31st, 2009, in Kelowna. Roger was a long time member of the Kelowna Legion Pipe Band and was the founding member of the Kelvern Celtic Society. He was a strong promoter of Celtic events in the Okanagan and supported many organizations under the Kelvern umbrella. Roger was on the Executive of the Kelvern Celtic Society for most of its 25+ years and will be greatly missed.
