"Champcar Testing Spotted"

Gordon Kirbie: Road & Circuit -February 2000

"After finishing 4th at the 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans, the diminuative BRM Team was seen oval track testing a pair of Reynards. The power plant was a closely guarded secret and thought to be a derivative of the twin-six V-12 used in the Le Mans Prototype. It was also reported that some aerodynamic modifications were tested. It is not known whether the test was a success. No further pursuit of Champcar racing appears to have been forthcoming. With the uncertainty of the future of open wheel racing in North America it would seem that this was a wise decision"
