It's Showtime!

  • April 20, 2002:
  • I have had to move the site to this location. Hopefully everything works fine, if not, please let me know.

Today is August 7, which marks the second anniversary that I officially launched Showtime. Rather than a celebration with some brand new design or other, this will be the second last update of Showtime. Although it pains me to do so, after this week this site will no longer be updated, at all. I will try to explain why and hope that you can understand. I am currently at a point where I can no longer run this site in a way that would do it any justice, like I feel it deserves. Over most of the last two years, I strived to create a site dedicated to the Big Show that would have everything from news to videos and sound clips. I was one of the very first Big Show sites to come out. I loved putting brand new videos and pictures up from every week, and I enthusiastically watched the Show every chance I got. Right now, though, its the opposite. You may have noticed that the past half year or so this site was worked on very minimistically. There has been no real update for over two months now. Theres alot of stuff going on in my life which takes up most of my time. In September I will be returning to University, where I will also be too bogged down with work to give this site good attention. Not only that, but I have lost not only the time but the passion I had for this page. I still enjoy the WWF, but not to the extent that drove me to make this site the best that I could make it. Its come to a time when updating this site has become a chore to me, a burden of sorts, rather than fun. That is what no webmaster wants. I wanted to end this site earlier but couldnt bring myself to it. Ive now realized, however, that this is the only thing I can really do. If I do not, I would occassionally update every once in a while, but I would never really enjoy it. For me to catch up now with all of the countless weeks of updates I have missed would take a commitment I cant afford. The forum has barely been touched for months, the guestbook stopped working, and many media files were deleted. Showtime doesnt have any more life in it left, Im afraid. No web site has lasted forever, but I was hoping to keep this one alive for quite some time yet. Unfortunately, it has worked out otherwise. This site was the first real site I made, after several failed attempts at other ones, that actually worked and was enjoyed by many. I have talked to plenty of great people as a result of making it. Your many emails and compliments to me over the years have been great, I really appreciated them. I will understand now if you decide to send me hate mails, but I hope that you can understand why I am doing this as well. Perhaps a time will come when I will revive this site and go at it with a renewed passion; however I doubt it. Showtime was fun and great while it lasted, but for now, for me at least, it is time for me to move on to other things. I will do a final update before I leave for good; the many video files and sound files that were deleted a while ago will be restored and re-uploaded for your hopefull enjoyment, hopefully this week.. The site itself will also stay online, I will not delete anything. That way, at least, you will still be able to find your favorite memories of the Big Show from the past. For the Big Show of the present and future, however, I recommend that you visit one of the fine Big Show sites in my links section. If you have a Big Show site you want me to feature here on the front page, please let me know. Also, if you have any final thoughts or questions then please email me, I will respond as best as I can to all of you. Goodbye, it has been a blast.
