Outside Printer (Publisher 95 - 98)

Choose
'File', then 'Outside
Print Setup'.
In Publisher 98 this is labeled: 'Prepare File for Print Service…'. |

Choose
appropriate 'radio button' for your planned publication * Note - Due to limitations of MS Publisher if you import graphics when ‘spot colours’ are chosen all graphics will go to grey scale, this includes graphics drawn in Microsoft Draw. With ‘spot colours’ chosen there is no way to successfully do multiple coloured graphics not done directly in Publisher. However when ‘full colour’ (four colour process) is chosen graphics will print in colour. Choose 'Next' |

If
you choose not to use Publisher's outside print driver, you MUST make
sure a postscript printer is chosen. I recommend the MS Publisher Imagesetter
or a Linotronic 330 (this can be installed from your windows disks using
'Add printer' icon from 'settings' 'printers' on your start menu,
however the Xerox Docutech runs better with publisher's own print
driver. If you are not sure check with your commercial printer, it
could save you money
Choose 'Next' |

For
printing to file for the Xerox Docutech both these boxes MUST be
deselected, however if printing to film 'Show all printer marks' should
be selected, as well as 'Automatically choose "extra" paper
sizes' (Note for Windows NT users -
Extra sizes are not available for the NT 4 printer drivers).
*** Make sure you have chosen the correct paper size for your document in 'page setup' under the 'file' menu. Use a custom size if necessary. *** Now is also a good time to Print Outside Printing Checklist Choose 'Done' |
