Shantael Sleight - Artist

 


Shantael Sleight is a Calgary painter who incorporates various materials in her work, ranging from fabrics and wax to graphite and oils. In her work, Shantael focuses on the under appreciated subtleties of the common crow, its space and surroundings and how this parallels human existence. Shantael started her art education at Red Deer College before graduating from the Alberta College of Art and Design with a BFA, majoring in painting. She's spent years researching and observing crow behavior and exhibits her work throughout Alberta.
