My idea with “My Bird” was to reverse the idea of owning a pet fish.

Here the mermaid has a pet bird in an upside-down fish bowl, to keep the air in.

The original of this painting sold at a Banff science fiction convention in 1989.

I don’t remember the original size, maybe something close to 20” x 26”

I had a hard time parting from this painting…
