I was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and split time growing up between there and here, in Edmonton, Alberta. I read voraciously, consuming any book put before me, though I had a particular taste for science fiction and fantasy. I was also very active in Scouting for 11 of the most interesting and influential years of my life. After a few wayward years coming out of high school (Austin O'Brien Class of 1998) I found myself a good career and a good woman. The career is accounting: I am progressing towards a degree in Business Admin-Accounting, with an eye towards my CMA designation. The woman is Lindsay: my joy, my best friend, and as of August 5, 2006, my wife. Thus far, married life has been very good to me. I've taken up speed skating in the winter and running in the summer, and writing at all points in between.
