At the Mermaid's Kelp B&B we are pleased to offer for your personal enjoyment and relaxation
a variety of comforts and luxuries. Our desire is to make your stay with us a most pleasurable and memorable
experience. In addition to your privately accessible en-suite bedroom which has a warm and amorous aura
with a queen bed, fireplace and ocean view; you have for your own use a beautiful living room with two
large balconies, den/music room to relax and listen to your favourite music and a solarium with a large
hot tub and exercise equipment. All this in a new "Bed and Breakfast" addition to an authentic log frame
home where you will enjoy a gourmet breakfast with your hosts. We also prepare vegetarian and vegan breakfasts
on request at no additional charge.

Mermaid's Kelp B&B is located on the east coast of Vancouver Island in the north part of the City of
Nanaimo.You may want to consider making Mermaid's Kelp B&B as your home base to visit other island destinations.
The west coast of Vancouver Island is about a two hour drive and Mt. Washington for great winter skiing
is a one hour drive.The City of Victoria, capital of B.C., is about a one and a half hour drive. The
warm water beaches of Parksville are a short twenty minute drive away.

Mermaid's Kelp B&B is an idyllic retreat in a West Coast natural setting.We are close to good restaurants,
shopping and most other amenities. Our one acre property has large fir and cedar trees. Song birds abound
and the sight and sounds of the near nesting bald eagles will probably be what you first see and hear
in the morning. Wild deer, raccoon families and rabbits often visit our property. Ours is an environment
that will make you forget the stresses of travel or the large city. The name "Mermaid's Kelp" is derived
from the unique kelp art created by your hostess and artist, Barbara Plichtova, the acclaimed former
Czech stage and film actress. Her exilirating art creations are displayed throughout the B&B and you
may visit her art studio. Her signed limited edition prints and other works are available at the Mermaid's
Kelp B&B.

Bara's breakfast menu is on request and without additional charge vegetarian or vegan and each gourmet meal is individualy created
for your culinary pleasure. We grow most of our own herbs and use mostly organically grown food. Our
environment in general is so tranquil and yet so envigorating that it may just inspire you to start writing
a book or sing arias from your favourite opera. If all this is still not enough for you, we will let
you split our firewood (without pay of course).
