History of Leo Club

The first Leo club was formed in 1957 by a high school baseball coach in Pennsylvania, who was an active member of the Lions Club (the largest international service organization). The club adopted maroon and gold as the Leo Club colors. Many other Leo clubs were formed thereafter. As the spirit of the clubs spread, the Lions Clubs International decided to adopt the club as an official program of their association in October 1967. Today, the Leo club program has become one of the largest international youth service functions.
