I created this painting after a trip to Knight Inlet that was sponsored by the Living Oceans Society.

The painting depicts a birds-eye view of the passage through Knight Inlet, just leaving Franklin going toward Malcolm Island.
Flying through these mountains on our small float plane, I felt the pervasive presence and majestic beauty of this pristine area, unspoiled by civilization. Heavy clouds were moving fast in the sky, with the sun breaking through them occasionally, casting surrealistic shadows and changing the colors and hues of the mountains and the sea below. I felt nature's omnipresence and my own insignificance.
