Hello... and welcome my little corner of the internet

My name is Ronn, I live in Canada (home of hockey), and I am a minor league hockey junkie! I got into hockey back in 1996 when I caught a few IHL games on TV. Since then I have been hooked! After I started taping and collecting games, I noticed how cool the pocket schedules were for my local teams. That got me started collecting pocket schedules, and from there I started collecting all kinds of hockey memorabilia associated with my favorite teams. This is all pretty amazing, as my father tried desperately to get me interested in hockey when I was young and I was absolutely uninterested in anything to do with hockey, or any other sport for that matter.
As well as collecting stuff, I love going to games. Luckily for me, there are at least 10 teams within an hours drive, ranging from the newest WHA team the New Westminster Whalers, to the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL. I also love traveling to new arenas to check out games. The furthest away from home I have been to a game was San Diego when we saw the San Diego Gulls play the Phoenix Mustangs. The game was rather memorable, as just as the teams were coming out for the 3rd period, a bench brawl broke out, the likes of which I had never seen bore (and never seen since.). They ended up calling the game without ever playing the 3rd period!
I am also addicted to listening to online broadcasts of games. I have been listening to and recording up to 4 games a night each season for the past 10 years. There are even a few teams that are now doing game podcasts, which I have subscriptions to, so that all the games magically show up in my iTunes collection. That is so much simpler than when I started listening and collecting games and I used to record them onto audio cassettes, and later onto VHS tapes (sound only). I have probably listened to more game broadcasts then anyone!
A highlight of my hockey season each year is the yearly Midnight Madness game in Las Vegas. For a write up on the Las Vegas Wrangles 2006 Midnight Madness game, check out my blog.
If you have read this far, congratulations. I hope you enjoy the rest of my site, and if you want to contact me, there is a link at the bottom of the home page. I would love to hear from you!

Here is a photo of myself (Ronn) with my wife Sara and THE Stanley Cup.
The photo was taken at the Langley Civic Center (home of the BCHL Langley Hornets) in 1999.

This is my son Kaden with his first hockey stick, which he received for his first birthday.
It's an official Sidney Crosby stick. Kaden is also wearing his Gretzky under armor, Domi gloves and Senators jersey.
The only thing he is missing is a Ducks helmet, as the Ducks are his favorite team.
