Born October 7, 1874. Married Josephat Bonin, born Sept. 27, 1862 in 1898. Josephat was the son of Francois and Célina Bonin. Anésie died Dec. 22, 1936 in Laurier, Manitoba. Josephat died on July 25, 1941.

From a phone call to Stephanie Joubert on October 18, 1998, I learned the following:

Josephat Bonin was a farmer who came from Quebec when he was 18 years old. Josephat moved to St. Pierre, Manitoba. Of all his children, only Stephanie and Joseph were born in Ste. Amélie. The others elsewhere (probably mostly in St. Pierre?).

According to Irene McVae (Lapointe), Anesie had come to stay with her mother Alexandrine, since she was expecting one of Alexandrine’s daughter’s (Claudette) to be born. Anesie had come by train to laurier, from Batoche, Sask. She had come to assist Alexandrine. After the birth, she had gone to the train station to take the train back to Saskatchewan, but she had a stroke while at the station. The station Master put her on a chair with wheels at the station and brought her back to Lapointe’s house. The town priest-Father Pierquin was called, but by the time he arrived at the house, Anesie was already dead. The nuns took in Irene and Isabel (Lucina) till the funeral was over, then they were returned to their place. The wake took place at Lapointe’s and she was buried in Laurier. Josephat died some years later at an old Folks’s house in St. Boniface.
