Anna Desjardins - George Proulx
Anna was born on Jan. 19, 1889. She married George Proulx. I used to know George and Anna's son also named George. One time I stayed at their place when I was going to the Juniorat.

The elder George Proulx worked for the CNR. He was twelve years younger than Anna. He lived in Melville, Sask. He was an engineer (drove the train) before diesel engines came in. He drove the passenger trains from Melville to Watrous. George Proulx originated from Richmond Quebec He owned a birch manufacturing plant and maple syrup. He also had a maple syrup farm. He used to Golf in Melville The golf courses were then rough. He also used to hunt. He also played bridge. He was also mayor of Melville at one time. He was also involved in a hockey rotary club. He was a practicing Roman Catholic all his life. When George retired at 65 years of age they moved to Vancouver. Both died at the ripe old age of 87 years.

Lorette died in 1984. Her daughter Joanne lives in Seattle. She is married to
Married Hugh Borman who was a doctor in Victoria. Thérese died in 1970.
Francis never got married. He lived in Vancouver. He had MS. He couldn’t work for long. He was an office Manager for a small firm which puts up bus signs.He died in 1986.
George was born in 1918 in Greenwood, B.C.
George worked for the CNR for many years. He was in the Canadian Navy during the war and his boat was sunk by a submarine a couple of times. He married Natalie Ruta.
George died on July 20, 1998 at Deer Lodge Centre, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Natalie died of cancer of the throat. She smoked a lot.
Stan Stanson was one of George’s good friends, who attended his funeral.
