James John Mallandaine and Honora Frost

James was born on 3 November 1848 in Cotes-du-Nord, Quevert near Dinan in France. He attended the Royal Military College, Sandhurst from February to December 1865. He was commissioned into the 106th Regiment of Foot (Bombay Light Infantry) on 29 May 1866. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant in 1868 and then Captain, in the 60th Regiment of Foot (King's Royal Rifle Corps), in 1877.

James is believed to have retired from the Army prior to his marriage to Honora Frost, at St Bridget with St Martin in Chester, on 17 August 1881. Honora was born on 23 June 1858 in Chester, the daughter of Robert Frost.

The family moved to Devon soon after. James died on 1 March 1911 at Roydon, Torquay, Devon. In the extract of his will, his last address is listed as Ogbeare Hall, North Framerton, Cornwall. Honora died at Hazelmere, Torquay on 28 April 1917. Her address was listed as Oldecourt, Torquay, Devon.



John Medowes Hawkes: born on 3 June 1852 in Stoke Fleming, Devon. He emigrated to Australia where he married Margaret Fogarty.

Honora Frost
: born in 1883 in Chertsey, Surrey. Honora never married. Prior to her death, Honora lived at High Croft, Budleigh, Salterton, Devonshire. She died at Mount Stuart Nursing Home, Torquay on 15 June 1933.
