Wondering Thoughts... of old
I see the "Conan is going to end" RUMOURS are up and running, again. ~_~ (And seem to happen at least once every year *sigh*)
I guess because Conan hit the 500 File (chapter 500 in Shonen Sunday) recently... Aoyama-sama will end it when he wants to end it.
Next month, 6 months, next year, 6 more years. Most people posting these comments (various Conan forums) seem impatient / tired of
the series going on (and on). Tough. If bored, go away and come back later or find some other series to watch. I'm in no hurry to see it end. ^_^
Oh, no way the manga is ending when the 9th movie comes out in April. The movies NEVER relate to the manga ... the movies are all original
(not in the manga) stories.

As nice as it is that Conan is now licenced for North America by Funimation, I'd rather it had been the manga.
There's Spanish, French, Chinese versions (plus I don't know how many other languages ) but no English.
Come on VIZ (most likely since owned by Shogakukan&Shueisha).
Geh, "Be careful of what you wish for, you may get it." VIZ did licence the manga. I *WAS* excited, all ready to pre-order
Volume 1 on Amazon... THEN I heard VIZ was no longer using the original Japanese names (character names, not just the TITLE
change) due to pressure by TMS (who has f* all to do with the manga, it's only SHOGAKUKAN that should effect any changes!!!!!)
(TMS is the company that makes the anime and responsible for Funi changing the character names (and although that may be, Funi could
bloody well do a far, far, far better job of name choices... Yusaku Kudo is now Booker Kudo?!! SOOOOO pathetic ~_~ And
then let's not mention the transmutations of a given episode (titles, lines, scenes cut))) Yes, have never had a good opinion of a dub
and I doubt it's an opinion that will change ^^;

Conan (anime) been running 13+ years now... yet no one's gotten any older. The seasons keep changing
(get winter / summer ... themed episodes) but nobody aging. This time warp phenomemon
would be the only thing DCN has in common with The Simpsons. ^^

Watching Conan and Escaflowne episodes on the same day doesn't mix. Takayama Minami is seiyuu
for Conan and does Dilandu/Celena (& Chid) in Escaflowne. I either expect Conan to break into
manical laughter or Dilandu exclaim "There is only one truth!" Bad imagery. :)

Continuity hiccup: Anime follows the manga stories very closely/faithfully (usually word for word),
however, there are times when the order of the stories goes awry which can make for some interesting/
intriguing character/plot developments... .
Example: Ep274/275 story in the manga takes place immediately after the NY arc, yet the NY arc
in the anime is 284-288. Ran still recovering from her high fever is why she goes to see Dr. Araide
which leads into the story of the "haunted" apartment building whereas in the anime, a reason to go see
Dr. Araide had to be made up.
Another big storyline jump is 219. The second (longer) Kid story took place in manga 30 (the
shorter story at the start of 219 was a special Shonen Sunday only story). Whereas the non anime
original episodes from 220 - 241 were in mangas 27-30 (except 228/229 which was from manga 31)
Many other examples can be found. I assume there's a reason(s) to jumble the order up yet
in some cases, I don't see the logic (even to this day).
