“In the year of our Lord 1840, the 4^th of the month of November about

three in the morning in Niederraden is deceased Christopherus

Machtemes, husband of the surviving widow Angela Staus,

having previously been provided all the last rites, piously fell asleep

in the Lord aged 50 years and the next day by the

undersigned rector was solemnly (according to rite) buried in the cemetery.

tertium matutinam in Niederraden mortuus est Christopherus

Machtemes, conjux viduæ relictæ Angelæ Staus omnibus

moricatius sacramentis prævie munitus pie abdormivit

in Domino æstatis 50 annorum et altera die ab infra

scripto rectore rite in cæmeterio fuit supultus.
