MACE started it’s journey together in 1981. The band quickly developed a reputation for intuitive song selection and dynamic stage presence ... a perfect combination for audiences looking for an exciting evening of rock and roll. Of course, the third ingredient is the ability to deliver the songs with skill and passion so that patrons can share the energy ... the “vibe”if you will. MACE has always been able to deliver. Strong lead and backup vocals, precise harmonies, solid rhythms and warm, driving bottom end are all part of the formula. Throw in some world-class guitar work and the results are sublime.

MACE was a fixture at several local and valley nightclubs throughout the 80s and was also the most called-upon band to rock local dance functions. MACE was the original Funtastic band and eventually took their act on the road, appearing throughout the province under the Sam Feldman stable of bands. Several original compositions were featured regularly in the act and recording plans were only halted by a personnel change in 1984. The band  resurfaced with a new drummer and keyboard player and underwent a few reformations throughout the 80s and 90s, the most successful being O.T.C and Petty Crimes.

Today’s lineup until recently included original members Jackson Mace ... lead vocals/guitar, Jeff Gamble ... lead guitar/vocals, and Gary Moore ... bass guitar/vocals. Added to the mix  on drums/vocals is former Starship and Labels member Don Redgwell and on bass to replace Gary Moore is our newest member, Brett Osborne from Valleyview AB, but now residing in Vernon. The latest version has all the same qualities that led to all that initial and memorable success. MACE’s original byline was and is “The Joy of Rock”! Never has this been more true!
