Silver, Silk, and Pearls

Lori Ann Hampton has recently relocated to Fort St. John, British Columbia. She is delighted to return to the prairies after living overseas for many years. While formally educated as a teacher, she believes that her real education was gained while living and traveling abroad. She fell in love with silver and silk while living in Bangkok, Thailand. She became enchanted with the beautiful lustre of freshwater pearls in the markets of Manila, Philippines. Later, while living in Saudi Arabia she went into business importing silver, silk, and pearls from Asia.
Lori’s designs are centred around pearls. The past few years have seen remarkable changes in the freshwater pearl industry with new shapes and colours arriving in the markets frequently. They have shed their stuffy reputation and are fun and funky to wear. Lori believes that Canadians should wear more pearls and is eager to spread that message! She is thrilled to be working with two of her loves – silver and pearls. As for silk, well that’s another story . . .
