Missing Patrick
(Independent) |
|
Tracks:
"Missing Patrick" was originally recorded as a demo for promotional purposes. The Penguins had been together for two months at the time of the recording. Recorded in a mere three hours in the friendly confines of Peter Barboluk's Acoustic Cafe, 15 tracks emerged from an initial 30 to make it to the final product. Missing Patrick features the four piece band, minus Patrick on flute (hence the name). The CD shows the heavy influence of the Bothy Band, with six tracks taken from the masters themselves. The front cover of the CD shows the Penguins in a state of impending frostbite at a cold September 1999 performance at the Saskatoon Farmer's Market. This was the first time the four piece band had performed live. They thawed out by christmas. |
