This is the official Symbol of the Lithuanian Fish Mongers.
The symbol is made up of three parts. The first part is the castle like image. This is a modified symbol of Duke Gediminas who reigned in Lithuania from 1316 to 1341. The second part consists of the title letters of our group, the Lithuanian Fish Mongers. The third part is of course the fish part. It is a Walleye, or as it is known locally, a Pickerel. A prized freshwater game fish of North America, the walleye, Stizostedion Vitreum, is the largest member of the perch family. The symbol uses the three colors of the Lithuanian Flag, yellow, green, and red. Yellow represents the sun shinning over the native land. Green represents the forests and the fields. Red is for the blood that was spilled defending the freedom and independence of the country.
