m/v  Argyle Park

I was sent to the Argyle Park at Saint John, N.B. and we departed with a load of grain for Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, on the 19 Jan 1946, stopping at Hampton Roads for orders on the south journey as well as the north. Seeing as I had made up my mind to leave the sea life as soon as possible after the war, I was permitted to do so when we returned to Saint John, on the 17 Feb. and the end of my sea career.

Ian Howatson has prepared a website on the Bowater Steamship Company recounting the shipping experiences of his father's time on Bowater ships.  After the war, the Argyle Park was sold to Bowater and was renamed the "Liverpool Packet".  Ian has a picture of the renamed "Argyle Park" on his website.  Click HERE to be redirected to his site.
