The charm of Leonidio exists in it's streets......

Above is the church Agio Yianni. Next to it we see one of many images of bukamvillia plants common in the area.

 

Above left is Leonidions hospital / clinic. The backdrop of the mountain leaves you with a very powerful image no matter where you are in Leonidio.

 

Much to view along the streets, including centuries old olive trees.

 

There always seems to be a eucalyptus tree around for shade.

 

Classic Buildings and long narrow streets maze throughout Leonidio.

 

Finally in the distance in this picture we see the old windmills, which are no longer in operation in Leonidio. During WWI and WWII these also doubled as lookout points. Now they are welcoming structures that overlook the town.

 

Leonidio has many more beautiful structues, homes and geographical sites to be discovered.
