Whistler View - June, 2009
Acrylic
on Canvas, 36" x 30"
Located at: Private collection (SM) (SOLD)
Commission from someone who is lucky enough to have this view
from their vacation home. I worked from several photos and wanted
to emphasize the winter-wonderland feeling, complete with snow-laden
trees, distant glacier, and frozen lake.

Whistler Village - March 10,
2008
Acrylic
on Canvas, 36" x 24"
Located at: Private collection (JT) (SOLD) *Giclée available
Another Whistler scene. This shows Main Street, Whistler Village,
a fairly typical view with Blackcomb Mountain in the background
and the Delta Whistler Village Suites in the foreground.
Here
is a photo
of the scene from a slightly different angle. I'm sure
Whistler will become even more popular with the publicity from
the 2010 Olympics. Whistler Village is a charming place full of
bright little buildings nestled against snowy slopes.

Whistler Brewhouse - December

Whistler
This was a quick little painting. I wanted to add to my Vancouver
and area portfolio and potentially increase my stock of calendar
pictures. Whistler/Blackcomb is a well-known ski resort
about a two hour drive from Vancouver, British Columbia.
If
you've been to Whistler, you will surely have seen or possibly
had a pint in the High
Mountain Brewhouse. Some rave about the beer, some say
it's average. Me, I'm not fussy: if it's frosty and hopped, I'm
easily placated by several. In terms of the pub hierarchy at Whistler,
the High Mountain Brewhouse falls somewhere between aprés-ski
and pre-club.
