Books:

  • Turbochargers by Hugh MacInnes, distributed by HPBooks and published by The Berkley Publishing Group, 1984, ISBN 0-89586-135-6. This book contains a lot of info that is very useful in applying to carburetors. Focuses on mainly draw-through setups, but offers good insights on blow-through setups too. Much information about turbocharging principles and design, however some of the technological references are out of date, but still useful. I definitely recommend buying this book, which is available from Amazon or find used every now and then on Ebay
  • Maximum Boost by Corky Bell, published by Bentley Publishers,1997, ISBN 0-837-0160-6. This book has some good insights into carburetors and turbos, but where it really shines is technical information on turbo design and principles. This book is a must-have and can be found on Amazon, or used on rare occasion on Ebay.
  • Turbomania: Turbocharging the Vw Engine by Bob Tomlinson, published by Motorbooks International, 1991, ASIN: 999938272X. I do not own this book personally, but have heard from enthusiasts that though it focuses mainly on VW Beetles, it is the best book on tuning Weber and Dellorto carbs for turbocharging. Can be found on Amazon (though it is limited and out of print) and sometimes used on Ebay
  • The 21st Century Turbocharger Book released by the Studebaker Club seems to get rave reviews by backyard carb turbo enthusiasts as it is the only book that specifically caters to their needs. I have no experience with this book, but it seems very interesting from what I hear, and I may pick it up soon. To read about this book and/or order a copy, go to their site.
