1. JOHN2 MCKINNON (NEIL1). "John of Three Wives" married (1) ANN MCINTYRE 06 Oct 1854 in Indian River, P.E.I., Canada.1, daughter of JOHN MCINTYRE and FLORA CAMPBELL under special dispensation because they were second cousins. She was born Abt. 18302, and died 16 Dec 1856 in Brae, P.E.I., Canada.3 at 26 years of age.
John then married (2) MARY ANN MACISAAC 13 Sep 1865 in Brae, P.E.I., Canada4, daughter of PETER MCISAAC and MARY MCGILVARY. She was born Abt. 18435, and died 07 Mar 1866 in Brae, P.E.I., Canada6. According to her gravestone Mary died 7 March 1866 but St Mary's Baptismal Register shows that she and John had Augustine (1867), and Mary Hannah (1868) after that date. The grave marker is a tribute to all three wives which means that it probably wasn't made until after wife three died (1873) and may be in error. Mary probably died in 1868/69 possibly in childbirth with Catherine.
He married (3) ALICE WALSH 14 Jan 1870 in Brae, P.E.I., Canada7, daughter of ROBERT WALSH and MARGARET FITZGERALD. She was born Abt. 1849 in Brae, P.E.I., Canada8, and died 03 Oct 1873 in Brae, P.E.I., Canada9. After Alice's death there are no further Brae church or census records of John or his family. One exception is that his son Augustine (age 14) is listed with Felix McKinnon, John's brother, at the time of the 1881 Census.
As a side note, Alice Walsh's brother David married Mary McKinnon daughter of Neil McKinnon and Catherine McIsaac (Lot 10) 15 Feb, 1870. This Neil McKinnon's relationship, if any, to Neil McKinnon of the Brae is not yet known.
