LAMPWordsX - Important Notes
============================

NOTE:  This is version "X" of LAMPWords ("ex", not 10), called LAMPWordsX in a
	   few places.  It has been designated as such because it is a special
	   cleanup version.

LAMPWords is a program for Palm-compatible handheld devices whose function is
to anagram and look up words.  (Hence the name:  LAMP and PALM are anagrams.)
It was created for use by Scrabble(r) players but it has other uses as well.
The dictionary is updatable.

LAMPWords should run on any handheld device using Palm OS 2.0 or greater, but
Palm OS 3.0 or higher is recommended.

Memory requirements depend on the dictionary size.  The program itself is very
small, so the memory consumed depends on how many words you want to store and
how much of your handheld's memory you want to fill up.  See the web site for
details.

NOTE:  You MUST download a dictionary file from the LAMPWords web site!  The
       program won't run without one!

LAMPWords can be installed using the normal install facilities for your
handheld device.  For Palm devices on Windows, open the Palm Desktop's Install
Tool, select "Add", then find and select both the "LAMPWordsX.PRC" file and the
"LAMPWordsDB.PDB" (or other dictionary database) file.  Then click Done, and do
a HotSync to install the software.  (It may take a few minutes for the database
to be downloaded into your handheld.)

This version of LAMPWords is distributed under the GNU General Public Licence.

is available from the web site.  It requires Palm OS SDK 4.0 and PRCTools 2.0
or higher to compile.

NEW USERS:

Full installation and usage instructions are contained in the file called
"manual.txt".  There is also some limited help available from within the
program itself if you need a reminder.

UPGRADING:

Users of LAMPWords 1.1 or 1.0 do not need to download a new dictionary.  Simply
install the program file.
