Download LAMPWords

The current version of LAMPWords is LAMPWordsX.

The LAMPWords program is distributed as a .PRC file which installs in your Palm just like any other application.

IMPORTANT: To use LAMPWords, you also need a dictionary database. These are stored on a separate Dictionaries Page, which you should visit after you download LAMPWords.

Version X

LAMPWordsX is a special "final cleanup version" of the program, to add a few missing features that many person-years of use revealed were sorely lacking. I called it LAMPWordsX because, with real development stopping years ago, and with this being a very minor release, a regular version number didn't seem to fit, and "X" seemed a sufficiently mysterious label to attach to it.

The source code for LAMPWords is distributed under the GNU General Public Licence (GPL). The source package can be downloaded below. It requires the Palm OS SDK 4.0 or higher and PRC-Tools 2.0 or higher to compile.

NOTE: If you are a regular user and just want the LAMPWords program so you can use it, download the program package ABOVE and not the source package below!

LWDBTools

Tools for creating dictionary databases are available below. This task is not suitable for the general public! The tools are a set of programs and program patches. There is an instruction file available to guide you through the process.

The addendum contains full patched dawg.c and dawg.h source files, which I'm told are no longer on the author's home site. Luckily, after the release of LWDBTools he gave me permission to redistribute them. It also contains some sample .DWD files, which were inadvertantly left out of the original LWDBTools package.

NOTE: Be sure you also obtain the third-party package mentioned on the Dictionaries Page.
