A little bit about Alena:
Alena has dedicated her time and shared her passion for dogs for many years. Her hobby grew from one dog to five with in a few years. Alena created a web site and called it Labradoodle Passion. Alena has always been proud of her dogs and their accomplishments. She has been able to share her knowledge and many pictures with people by this wonderful web site.
Alena has been described as
an amazing women with a heart of gold. She has helped many people over the years
find home for unwanted dogs or puppies. She has taught people how to groom,
train their puppies basic manners and correct unwanted dog behavior.
She truly loves her dogs refers to them as her four legged children. Usually
where you see Alena she has her dogs with her. Even camping, car rides and sleep
over with the children.
Her dogs were from top hunting, show, therapy and guide dogs bloodlines bought
from excellent breeders. They had
wonderful calm temperaments and were well respected and loved family pets. They
were fully health tested (not just vet checked) before breeding and were never bred
more than once to max three times.
Alena Strelaeff is an amazing mother and caring lady with a heart of gold. She has gone out of her way more than once to help families and people with their pets. Teaching grooming, dog manners and so much more. She has shared her therapy dogs with children to seniors and gone on many hospital visits, parades and therapy pet gathers. She has supported and taken part in several SPCA fund raising walks, and donated her help at shelters. She truly believes in lending a helping hand around the dog community.
Many of Alenas dogs matured into wonderful well adjusted and loved K9 companions. Becoming
guide and therapy dogs, family pets and top obedience winners. Alena never bred
dogs to make a living from them, but rather to share some of her dogs
outstanding bloodlines with people. Any adoption fees acquired from
puppies always went back into her animals.
When an active breeder Alena was a
recommended breeder by vets as well as an approved breeder by the Australian Labradoodle Association of America & Recommended breeders from Goldendoodles.com

Here is a pic at the beginning of July with his short haircut (to keep him cool). We've since grown him out a bit and his hair is wavy/curly and fluffy on the top. He is a dream. Friendly, smart and adorable. Thanx for your help. Shauna |

hi there, I just browsed onto your website and I just wanted to say it was
very informative and straightforward and truthful. I like how you explained
the different types of doodle breedings and it seems like you operate an
excellent quality breeding program. I also appreciate that you made the
point to say that a mixed breed is not necessarily healthier than a purebred
(a common misconception) and explained the different types of coats and the
fact that doodles do shed etc. I'm not interested in a puppy, just wanted to
let you know you have a great site and if your breeding program is a
reflection of it you're doing a great job. You're an excellent example that
mixed breeds can be bred responsibly for a purpose. Thanks :) Sarah |
Hello Alena Any luck with the email addresses from Finnigan's Oct 10th litter? I so want to see pics of the siblings. I recall they are across Canada. Questions for you... Finnigan is super smart and super popular (famous almost) and very sweet, but VERY demanding at times. I am absolutely positive you've been contacted by the many many people who want to know who bred him. What are your thoughts about the neutering timing and how will those affect his extremely friendly, outgoing behavior, his size or weight? One day, we will make a trip to visit his 1st Mummy.... Just wanted to let you know that we finally got our Doodle. We are so
happy with her. They are the greatest dogs. I want to thank you again for
all of your help. I did run into the lady here who has one of your puppies
and he is so beautiful. For us getting a dog this time of the year worked
out great. We have had her two weeks and potty training is going well.
Kmear - my husband wanted but I wasn't going to go to agility and call
Kmear all the time. Like 'Come Here'. No way
Well take care and all the best to you.
Sincerely, Kari-Lynn
(hope you enjoy the photos-my favorite is the first one of my daughter and
our pup meeting for the first time :-)

Hi Alena, Just thought I'd send a few pics of Lynden with our pumpkin. Do you know if there are any other pups from the same litter as Lynden that live in the lower mainland - we would love to be able to get together with any of this bro's. Would also love to see what all the rest of the puppies look like as we haven't seen many other Goldendoodles with similar features. Oh I also forgot to mention we're taking puppy classes with a labradoodle from you - very cool. With all this rainy weather our little guy seems to end up with lots of curls all the time despite the constant brushing, is that just a trait of the breed or is his coat just really curly and thick? Have you ever considered putting together a webpage that shows what puppies from various parents look like - personally I would love to see what some of your crosses look like in terms of their puppies. Just wondering? As I mentioned before, we would love to hear about any other goldendoodle litters that you might have in the future as we love of our little guy and his temperment. Thanks again, Erin |
I just wanted to let you know how much we love
Toby. He is such a great puppy and we all love him. It's hard to believe
that he hasn't always been with us.
I've attached a couple of pics of him.
Thanks again, we'll talk to you soon.
Tammy Austin

Hello, I am interested in the future litter of Brownie & Tobi. I know it is a while away, but I wanted to let you know of my interest. I live near Houston, Texas & I have just retired after teaching severely disabled junior high students for years, so I am hoping to add to my Labradoodle family because I will have lots of time to care for & love a new puppy. At this time, I have a standard male & female. I am a relatively new breeder; I have had one wonderful litter of standards which were born in an extra bedroom in my home. My dogs are also my pets & are loved & spoiled. I want to add smaller labradoodles & I have absolutely fallen in love with the brown & white partis. We would love one of your future female parti,s from Brownier. Thanks so much for your time & I am looking forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Audrey |

Hi Alena, Aries weighed 16 pounds 8 oz. yesterday at your vet's office.
Here are a few recent photos of him. He really
looks more like Heidi than the others do.
Everyone loves Aries. He is quiet, polite, fun,
loving, and playful with all the neighbourhood kids and Robin's students
who come to the house. He also sleeps well and knows where to do his
'business'.
Thanks so much for matching Heidi & Bandit so
that Aries could come into our lives. And thanks again for your quick,
sensible advice on any of our questions.
All the best, Diana (and Robin)

Hi Alena,
Here are some pictures of hermit. Misty and
Pluto's pup from last October. I thought you might be interested in how he
turned out. He is a wonderful pup, very loving disposition. I am
interested in one of Keeva's pups once she actually gets bred. I'm
thinking of breeding her with Hermit as long as their health checks out at
two years. Is Keeva related to hermit in any way?
Hope to hear from you soon,
Shelley

HI Alena: I have enjoyed reviewing your website
and agree 100% with your philosophy. I am very impressed.
My husband and I are considering adopting a
labradoodle so am I in the process of educating myself more about the
breed.
You mention that your female dogs are retired by
the age of 2 to 3 years of age. While we may be interested in a puppy, we
would also be interested in an adult dog. Do you have a female that will
be retiring over the next half year or so? If not, are you aware of
anyone else who may be retiring a labradoodle over the next while?
thank you for all your help.
best wishes,
Shannon.

Hi Alena Thank you for letting us meet your dogs and get to know you. We met Dusty while he lived with Alena a few summers ago. He was a beautiful white poodle that was happy healthy and outgoing. I was shocked to pick him up for you and see him all matted smelly and
stained. My girl friend and I could not believe this was the same dog we met
before. Mill

My parents and I both purchased Doodles off you a few years ago. Dudley
and Sassy. Sassy is currently expecting a litter that will be due in
Early May. Sassy has been checked and health tested and looks like a
healthy litter is on the way. I have attached a picture of the two dogs,
they are fantastic animals. Thank you again for them. As you no longer
breed Golden's I though that maybe you direct any inquiries towards me. I
hope to keep one or two but want only good homes for the rest of the
puppies.
Thanks
Tim
Hi there - just wanted to share some up-dated pictures of our beautiful boy!
Hope things are going well for you.

Hi Alena,

Not sure if you remember us…we adopted our 'Maggie' from you in Dec. 2006 - she was born on Oct. 29, 2006 from Pluto and Misty. Maggie is doing very well - she's about 55lbs now and is the sweetest girl. Our vet (sunshine hills, Delta, BC) suggested I email you to let you know that he thought Maggie was one of the calmest, best behaved labradoodles he's ever come across. Everyone loves our Maggie….in fact we've recommended you several times to people inquiring about getting a dog like 'Maggie'. I thought I'd send along a recent picture of her. Take care and all the best! Jay, Castel and Maggie Tuason

We just wanted to send you a quick note to update you on “Bozley”; (you know him as “red collar” from Ellie’s litter). He is growing quickly, has quite the little personality, and learns very quickly! He is definitely one of the family and we love him a lot! Regards, Marc, Krista, and family |
BELLE AT 12 WKS. SHE IS A SUCH A GOOD PUPPY! SO SMART AND LOTS OF FUN!! I JUST LOVE HER. THANK YOU. C |

Dear Alena I read the horrible false write ups about you and labradoodle passion by that guy. I couldn't believe its not against the law to harass someone like this. I would sue him for what he is doing and writing such lies. I know his false accusations are ridiculous and completely mend to cause harm to you and your families hobby. I would not hesitate to buy one of your puppies or recommend you as a honest caring breeder that you are. Shame on him for mocking you like this. It shows what kind of breeder he is. I would never recommend buying a puppy from such a breeder that takes pride in mocking others like this. A breeder that has up to 10 litters at a time, and does not post any health test his dogs as he claims. I have met several people now that have had bad dealings with this man it's not just you. Sorry you have had to deal with this person. It appears many people are after him, but he wants to blame it all one you. Hopefully once your lawyer gets all the documents together you can put an end to this harassment and slander he is doing. I recommend getting a restraining order against him to put an end to this childish behavior against you. I know several really good Lawyers and police friends if you need any help. Sincerely Diane |
Dear Alena Thank you for all your help and information about labradoodles, we look forward to meeting you and your puppies. I have heard wonderful things about your dogs and you. You have come highly recommended by many other breeders, and people we have met. Even our own vet recommended you as a breeder. They all said your a very sweet lady with a big heart. A breeder with a deep passion for animals and doing what is right. Your web site clearly shows your deep love for dogs. Again thank you for being such a wonderful true and honest person. I have spoken to other BC breeders to have only found them to be very pushy. Offering discounts or puppies for reduced sale rates, with free flights and more trying to get us to buy. I really enjoyed our talk and found you to be a very knowledgeable and well educated breeder. A breeder that really cares about your dogs and their puppies. I valued your patience and help you have provided our family about labradoodles. We are very excited to meet your new litter of labradoodles and you. Pam |

Hi Alena,
We bought Richard from you in December 2007 & thought we would share more
recent photos of him with you. We have recently moved to Toronto where he
is enjoying playing in the snow. The pictures are from the summer when we
rented a cottage in the Cariboo of BC. He has been a wonderful addition to
our family, and we can't imagine life without him! We are so thankful to
have found a puppy that had such a wonderful start in life. Thank you for
doing such a wonderful job.

Our family got our Labradodle, 'Riley' from Alena's Labradoodle Passion kennel.
Right from the beginning the attention to where the dog would live and the
facilities of our home to house a, big, active, dog were under scrutiny.
Alena was wonderful to our son Michael (whose dog it was to be) but she
wanted to be very sure that this was a good place for 'her' dog to be. We
passed!
And then the unbelievable began. Alena was there for us with all of our
questions and advice when we needed it and when we wanted some hands on
time to teach us about grooming and hygiene long after the sale was over
and Riley had moved in with us. We maintain our contact with Alena and on
occasion we have gotten together and walked our dogs. This actually
continues through today, three years later.
We walk our dog at a popular 'off leash' area near our home in Victoria. I
have met many Labradoodles there and a surprising number have come from
Alena's kennel. Every one of the dogs that I have met have this same
wonderful disposition as does our Riley.
Riley is the best dog we have ever owned because he has the
wonderful personality of the loyal labrador and the brains of the Poodle.
VERY good genes. When Michael took Riley through obedience training there
were 3 contests with prizes on the last night. Riley and Michael won all
three!
It is probably pretty obvious that we are big fans of this fine kennel and
it's hands on owner, Alena and Riley of course! Peter

I highly recommend Alena's doodles to anyone who is thinking of adopting
any one of her beautiful puppies. |

I have a lovely 10 month old labradoodle named Gemma that I got from
Alena |
I
highly recommend Alena as a breeder of Labradoodles, she has a love and a
compassion for dogs. Not only for her own dogs but those she has
rescued, her goal, to find good loving forever homes. I met Alena about 3
years ago when I went to her home just to 'see' what a Labradoodle was
like, I came home with Lacey. Alena had seen right away that Lacey was
bonding to me and I will be always be grateful to her for " You can take
her home with you " That was the start of my association with Alena and
her family. I became a "foster mom " in her breeding program. During the
first 2 years was a great learning experience, Alena was always available
by either e-mail or phone for reassurance and answers to my many
questions. To our dismay Lacey did not conceive. I do not consider Alena
as just an acquaintance and breeder but a friend that gave me the most
wonderful gift Lacey.
Yours Truly,
Wendy
