"Kellos is a god of blazing light, life, and justice." - opening of the Acolyte's Prayer

Acolyte Rivan is one of the many acolytes who make up the bulk of the faithful of Kellos. They are tasked with the menial labors of the church as well as a strict religious study. Many fail this tempering period, but those who don't are truly devout. Acolyte Rivan is such a person. He was assigned to serve as an acolyte with Priest Morgan in a remote village of Terrinoth, when it was attacked by a bloodthirsty group of beastmen and kobolds. By rallying the townspeople and offering aid when required, the once retiring acolyte discovered in himself a higher purpose. He now seeks out adventure and offers his services to those who would strike a blow against the evil that hides beneath Terrinoth. His ability allows other heroes to maximize their attack rolls or avoid the deadly traps of the Overlord.

“Servants of the fire god Kellos are known for their burning zeal.” - Governor R____ of Vynelvale

Priest Morgan was a man who had struggled within his Faith the moment he became an acolyte of the Order. His training period was marred with lapses and indiscretions, a few of which almost seemed to be unrecoverable. But, still the Order hung onto the Priest and believed in him when he did not believe in himself. Cardinal Koth assigned Priest Morgan and Acolyte Rivan to a remote village in Terrinoth in a move which was almost prophetic in its nature. Less than a year later that village came under attack by a band of beastmen an kobolds. Acolyte Rivan wrote in his report:

"Priest Morgan looked out over our huddled group of refugees, taking in the soot-covered faces, tearful eyes and bloodied limbs. Outside of our parish, the beastmen invaders still swarmed with their kobold cohorts, looting, burning and killing. Kellos's own fire! He then spoke these words which resounded within me: 'Too long, these abominations have plagued us! Too long we have waited on justice! It is time to Minister the Faith.'"

It seems that the crisis had empowered Priest Morgan in more than one way. Now his attacks are granted the gift of fire and his Faith has been restored and tempered.

“Though I walk through darkness, I have no fear, for Kellos is my light and my sword.” - Brother Frakas

Brother Frakas came to the Order later than other acolytes. He spent his teenage years as a fighter in Dawnsmoor and then hired on as a mercenary for a campaign in the south. The depravity and atrocities he saw committed on that campaign changed his life forever. He confronted his captain after a particularly gruesome attack and was soundly beaten and left to die, staked out under the Southern sky. It was in this state that a Lifebringer of Kellos found him and nursed him back to health. She also taught him the ways of the Order, a path he embraced fully. Upon his return to Terrinoth, he formally applied to join the Order at Vynelvale. Seeing in him a battle hardened warrior, the Order forgo the normal training procedure and instead installed him as a commander of a "Crusade" [a squad of 100 Brothers]. He held that position for twenty years, drilling his martial skills into his troops, often at the point of his own sword. To this day, "Frakas's Crusade" is the most sought after crusade to be assigned to. Retired from active training now, Brother Frakas wishes to still prove his worth to Kellos, and perhaps more importantly, to himself.

“I will fight at your side, and Kellos will fight at mine.” - Sister Celia

Little Celia attended her first Order service with her parents when she was six years old. From that moment on, she became a dedicated worshiper. Invariably, when she failed to return home after her studies, she could be found among the church grounds, asking questions of the devoted there, or simply sitting in quiet reflection. At the age of majority, and against her parents wishes, Celia applied to enter the Order. This caused a rift between her and her family that has yet to be healed. Due to her early exposure and devotion, Sister Celia quickly rose to her current status: a Shieldmaiden. When the Order is forced to defend Terrinoth and her faithful, it is always a Shieldmaiden who will lead the command.

“Trust in me, and your faith will be rewarded.” - Cardinal Koth

Cardinal Koth grew up in the city of Vynelvale his whole life. The son of a wealthy merchant, he seemed destined to follow in his father's footsteps. All that changed when the previous Cardinal saw him laboring away in his father's shop and found in him something greater than a merchant's son. The Cardinal offered to sponsor Koth, and Koth's father, liking the sum presented, agreed. At ten years old, Koth became a Ward of Kellos, and grew up in the magnificent Cathedral of Vynelvale. His training period was intense. He flew through the ranks of the Order, not through favor, but by sheer force of will, in half the ordinary time. The other members of the Order saw in him a fierce avatar of Kellos and when the older Cardinal died, Koth was nominated and proclaimed the new Cardinal. At forty two, Cardinal Koth was the youngest Cardinal in the Order's history. Now, Cardinal Koth seeks to aid other heroes by healing them in times of dire need.

“I walk on the knife edge of the Abyss.” - Ceraleth the Inquisitor

Little is known of the Inquistors of Kellos, and even less is known about Ceraleth himself. What is known is that he has always defended the Order, by any means necessary. Some of his actions have even lead to official censures. His superiors have a one-word description for him: dangerous.

“Faith can see the stalwart through many difficulties, not the least of which is foul sorcery." - Brother Nereus

A young Paladin of renown from the Brothers, Nereus has used his powers to expand his crusade against all that is evil on, and underneath, Terrinoth. He has refused to accept higher ranks within the Order, instead preferring to remain within the "common" Brothers, where he feels he may perform his best. He is a symbol that all Brothers aspire to become.

“No, no, no, you're doing it all wrong. Here, let me show you how a sword is swung.” - Old Vashan

In his sixty three year career, Old Vashan has performed innumerable services for the Order. As an acolyte at first and then, when he turned sixteen, a Brother. He rose to the rank of Crusade commander quite quickly. The Brothers under his command jokingly appended "Old" to his name when, despite his younger age, he demonstrated knowledge and wisdom which were almost uncanny. Old Vashan has retired from active service within the Order, but now serves Kellos in his own, unique way.
