FMA stands for Filipino Martial Arts. It comes from the nation that survived countless years of armed conflict. FMA, well known for its simplicity and effectiveness, treats all attacks in a given zone similarly. Students are taught a series of simple techniques, which can easily be varied depending on their situation. In the end, you have a very efficient system dealing with varieties of attack using no more technique than necessary.

Guro Vic Ferrer, a devoted practitioner of the art, founded FMA Pro Intl. Vic Ferrer started FMA in 1966 and continues to study and train to further its development. Guro Vic Ferrer has studied other martial systems, achieving blackbelts in Karate and Kenpo. Guro Vic Ferrer has also trained quite extensively in boxing, kickboxing and grappling.

Guro Vic Ferrer found that all systems have their benefits and effectiveness. Instead of criticizing other systems, he feels that it is import to learn and develop to improve the student.

FMA has been founded to promote the Filipino Martial Arts, and create friendships with other styles, so that they all can train in a happy, safe healthy environment. Their development in both sport competition and self-defense has made them recognized and respected in the community.

FMA focuses on both competition training and self-defense situations. All training for both self-defense and competition is done within a safe environment. While training for competition, FMA practitioners keep a positive mindset and respectfully follow the rules of competition to win. FMA encourages respect for all other competitors to help encourage the brotherhood among each martial artist.

By keeping a positive, welcoming personality, we hope to continue our training for many years to come. If you have an interest in our system, Guro Vic Ferrer "would like to extend the invitation to join us".
