Our Hearts are breaking - this week we've lost another child to Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Timmy Weber was 4 years old, he passed away this afternoon.

He will be greatly missed.

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Payton Freeman. Payton was 5 ½ years old. Paytons Pals is a non-profit, all volunteer organization, dedicated to the eradication of spinal muscular atrophy, focused on spreading awareness and committed to the support of sma-affected families. First off - Happy Birthday wishes going out to my 'little sis' I hope you had a WONDERFUL day !!!

Prayers, Positive Thoughts, Hugs, and Strength for all the families struggling with illnesses right now. Also Prayers and warm comforting hugs to the families who've recently lost a loved one, or are facing the Holiday season ( even many years later) with an 'empty chair' ... Angel days are impossibly hard at any time... but somehow even more so when it's so close to a holiday / birthday.

August is Spinal Muscular Atrophy Awareness Month

We choose to use the 2nd Saturday in August every year as a time to reflect on those lost, as well as to honor those living daily with SMA. As this event continues to grow, we hope to bring awareness to the public about the disorder as well as unity to the families living with it, as we all join to spread the light of our candles around the world.

We hope you will join us this year, on August 13, 2005, for the 2nd Annual SMA Candle Lighting.
