How do I install a tube?   Most tubes don't need to be installed into the 'picture tube' tool but you will want to add some. If you plan on using it a lot, or will be resizing quite a bit, it's a good idea. You just need to open the tube, choose file ----> export ----> picture tube. A box will come up prompting you for further instructions. The tube tool is mainly set up for multiple graphics and places them as 'cells' in a table.

If you're using a single image, cells across and down will be 1. Placement options are for multiple graphics too, setting whether they're accessed randomly or sequentially and how they're selected. You can ignore these settings for a single image. Name & save.

How can I delete a tube in the picture tube tool?   Open your PSP browser and scroll to the folder where your picture tubes are stored (in PSP 8 and up, you'll find a folder in your 'My Documents' called My PSP8 Files, and a sub folder in there called 'Picture Tubes')  - all the tubes will show in your view screen. If you've created a separate folder for tubes you add, you'll find the tube in there. Right click on the one you no longer need, and select 'delete'

Why doesn't my PSP file open in Animation Shop?   Animation Shop doesn't recognize PSP files saved as ver. 8 & up, so you must save your images as PSP 7 compatible. When the 'Save' box opens, click the 'Options' button and save as PSP 7 compatible.

My transparent gif has a background when I open it in PSP   PSP automatically creates a background on files other than .psp or .tut images. To retain the transparency in a gif file, open it in AS, right click on the name bar and choose export frames to PSP.  If the gif file is for another project, it's a good idea to right-click the image again in AS, break link with PSP and close & save the gif as is.
I can't export from AS to PSP   You may not have an updated PSP - you can check the COREL site for patches to your program. If you have version 8, you'll definitely need the 8.1 patch.

This could also be a problem in your settings. Try opening file ---> preferences ---> general program preferences and checking your layered file preferences. It should look like this:

If this still doesn't work, you can copy the image from AS and paste it on your PSP canvas. Or you can select  ----> File ----> Save Frames As and choose psp image. If the gif has more than one frame, make sure you 'select all' first and when the save frames as box comes up,  check the box that says save frames as layers.

How do I do a screen shot?   On your keyboard, hit the 'prt scr' button (usually located across the top to the right of your function keys) - here's a shot of my keyboard showing the location:

Now on your PSP screen, hit edit ---> paste as new image, and your screenshot will appear. You can format it just as you would any other PSP image. (This will also work in Animation Shop)

How do I install a filter plug-in?   Bella's given great instructions on installing plug-in filters on our tut thread   HERE

THIS SITE has downloads for almost all available PSP plug-in filters.
My installed plug-ins don't work!   Some filters are created in photoshop format, and Windows requires a couple of special driver files to convert and run them properly. THIS SITE gives you the driver downloads and how to install them. It also contains a download link for the Plug-in Commander to manage plug in files - not necessary but very useful!
Can I enlarge a gif canvas in AS?   To resize an image in AS, you go to Edit --> Animation Wizard and follow the steps ..
Set the size you want the finished image to be:

Indicate if you want it to have a transparent or coloured background (and choose the colour)

Indicate the position you want the animation in the canvas, and what you want done with 'empty space'

Adjust play settings (if you do NOT have it set to loop indefinitely, when displayed the animation will only play as many times as you set)

Click 'Add Image' and a browser will open. Find the gif, and open ...

Now click finish and you'll see you have a new animation on the larger canvas
