Bomba - Local Latin supergroup ¡Bomba! is a collaborative of musicians with a striking diversity of cultural backgrounds, dedicated to exploring the rhythms and grooves from across the Americas. Their new album ‘A Mi Me Gusta’ blazes with superb musicianship, vibrant grooves and exquisite vocals. Performed with great energy and conviction, this CD chronicles the band’s musical journey to date; an elaborate exploration that unfolds as naturally as the Latin rhythms they blend so seamlessly. www.bombaweb.com Sandro Dominelli – This is a musician
who could have set his sights on only being a much sought after side man
but watching him anchor set for greats it was obvious Dominelli had more
to offer. Adding composer and bandleader to the resume requires additional
dedication to one’s music as well as willingness to make things
happen from the ground up. His new CD “Meet Me In The Alley”
is certain to bring his talents to even more Jay Cairns - Bassist Jason Cairns is a
well-rounded musician. The Hi-Phoniqs were the fortunate recipients of
Jay’s considerable talents; now he plays with two of the members
in J.I.F., an inspired musical stroll through the glorious history of
soul music. Jay also performs regularly with bebop cortez, Jeff Hendrick,
and his own project, The SuperBand: a high-powered 8-piece extreme funk
band. www.superband.ca Stewart MacDougall - Stewart MacDougall’s
new CD ‘Ghost Trains’ is the soundtrack from a stage play
ode to romance and the Canadian railroad, delivered by his character Dougie
McCrea. The narrative is punctuated with verse and tunes written by Stewart.
Combining spoken word pieces with songs in a theatrical context is certainly
something completely different for this luminary songwriter and truly
another feather in his cap. MacDougall has two well- received solo CDs
to his credit, and his material's been covered by k.d. lang, Randy Travis,
Ian Tyson and Laura Vinson. Stewart

musical scene have been drawn to and inspired by the music of Latin blues-rock
guitarist Carlos Santana, who since his breakthrough appearance at Woodstock
in '69 has created an incredible body of work that knows no boundaries-
territorial or musical. It was the 1999 Supernatural recording, which
reached tidal wave proportions, that linked Santana fans, both devoted
and new. That explosion acted as the catalyst for Peter North and Kirby
to create “Soul Sacrifice: a Santana Celebration”. There is
no better artist to pay tribute or homage to than Carlos Santana- this
guitarist, bandleader and composer who is not only one of San Francisco's
favourite sons, but one of this planets most enduring voices and brightest
artistic lights. Soul Sacrifice Kirby is proud to have recently worked for: A.R.I.A., CKUA, Atlyn Productions, Festival Place, Allstar Sound, Peter North, Josh Keller, Doug Jenson, Paul Fuellbrandt, Stewart Kirkwood, Ann Vriend, The Co-Dependents, Corb Lund, reClaim, Doug Organ, Brent Oliver, Ben Sures, Mad Bomber Society, Stephen Franke and Noises From The Toolshed.
