Terry Kelly
"The Power of the Dream"
Released: March 2002
Independent (Gun Records Inc.)
CD ID = 09227 2

Newfoundland born, Halifax based, Terry Kelly's latest recording "The Power of the Dream" is very unique.  It is the first commercially produced music CD in the world that contains liner notes in Braille.

When Terry was a child, he was sent from Newfoundland to the Halifax School for the Blind.  Albeit a difficult decision, Terry learned to challenge himself, and his love of life and music flourished.  He learned to play the accordion, clarinet, guitar, and piano, he performed in a successful high school band, and was also very active in sports.  Terry has distinguished himself as the third blind person in the world to run the mile in under five minutes.

Because of Terry’s enthusiasm for life and sheer determination, it has gained him recognition as an athlete as well as a performer and a professional speaker.

"The Power of the Dream", Terry's newest, and 6th, CD release contains 13 songs that speak to each and everyone of us.  These works have been written either by him, or co-written with him and some of the Maritimes greatest writers.  These include Lennie Gallant, Maureen Ennis (of The Ennis Sisters), Mark Murphy, and Bruce Guthro, among several others.

Terry is accompanied by a fine selection of musicians which include: Curly Boy Stubbs, Brian Leonard, Scott Alexander, Trevor Mills, John Sheard, Don Reed, Wendy Solomon, Loretto Reid, Jeff Healey, The Ennis Sisters (Maureen, Karen, Teresa), Mark Murphy, Janet Munson, Tom Leighton, Neil Donell, Cindy Church, Angie Davidson, Bev Mills, Aengus Finna, Judy Walker, Darina Yordanova, and Jan O'Reilley.

Terry's relaxful voice can calm anyone down and make you pay attention.  He has been recognized by his peers with nominations for Canadian Country Music Awards and a Juno, and has received six East Coast Music Awards.  He is recognized as one of Canada's finest singer-songwriters.

Whether he's performing in school classrooms, corporate functions, or public concerts, he's received with great acclaim and praise.  Because he is telling stories that have happened to him and he can relate to, it makes you sit up and listen.

From Terry Kelly:

"I have always been a dreamer; I will always be a dreamer. I have discovered that the power of  the dream gives hope, strength, courage, empowerment, and brings about profound transformation in individuals and groups of people, if one simple rule is followed - honour the dream by taking action.  As my wonderful journey through life continues, I am evolving into more of a doer and so, many more of my dreams are being realized.  You will hear about several of my dreams and reflections in the music and lyrics of my songs. I hope some of them will stir you personally."
