Who am I? Well I am an analyzer and a doer. All my life my family, friends and coworkers have commented on how I love to get a hold of a challenge and put my creative flare towards it.
Initially I started to obtain a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University. In searching for a career that will utilize both parts of my brain (the creativeness and logical analysis) I discovered a career in information technology was more suiting. Therefore I obtained my Bachelors of Science in computers in 1998.
Straight from school I went to work for a company that allowed me to learn about building complex web solutions. With my drive to learn every aspect of the projects, I evolved into a team leader and project manager. I was able to complete several projects with them while building a strong instinct in providing solutions for our customers.
While as a Project Manger at Shopping Sherlock, I wanted to learn more about software engineering principles in order to become more productive and efficient. This desire lead to my employment with Software Productivty Center who specializes in this area. I was hired as I gave them a rare mix of a young dynamic software engineer, who understood the needs for the process and principles that they promoted. Through them I refined my skills while building tools to help other companies become more efficient in their work. I actively exchanged ideas with the consultants and managers while working on various products and development processes.

I enjoy teaching people from the knowledge I have acquired. I have always taken the time and interest in mentoring new and junior IT professionals. In my spare time I enjoy reading, poetry, movies or going for hiking and rollerblading. I find that taking time to enjoy life leads to a better appreciation of my work.
I enjoy using both my development and process knowledge skills. Currently finding a solution to people's needs by using software-engineering principles is what drives my career interests.
Cheers,
Jay
