2010 Olympic Games Circulation Coins

The Olympic coins will drop the Latin inscription D.G. Regina - 'Queen by the grace of God', last left off Canadian coins in 1911.
2010 Olympic Games - Vancouver and Whistler
Overview of the 2010 Circulation Olympic Coins
Canada will circulate 14 commemorative Olympic coins, between 2007 and 2010, to celebrate the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia. Twelve different quarters, released in 2007, 2008, and 2009, will mark the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.
In addition to the quarters, there will be two new dollar coins in circulation by 2010.
Five different quarters issued in 2007 show hockey, curling, the biathlon, alpine skiing, and wheelchair curling, all with the Vancouver 2010 logos and the Canadian Olympic logos.
Four different Vancouver 2010 Olympic circulation quarters in 2008 feature snowboarding, freestyle skiing, figure skating, and bobsledding.
Another three 25 cent coins circulated in 2009, show speed skating, cross country skiing, and sledge hockey.
The 2008 Vancouver 2010 Olympic Loon dollar shows the Canadian Olympic Committee symbol, with the Olympic torch and rings. The 2010 version will show the official Vancouver 2010 Olympic emblem and will NOT include a loon.

All Olympic coins will have the coin-release year on the face of the coin and 2010 or the Olympic Rings on the reverse.
Non-circulating Olympic Coins
36 non circulating legal tender Vancouver 2010 commemorative coins are also planned. Sales of these will also began February 23, 2007. There will be 15 $25 face value sterling silver coins showing winter sports and Olympic themes, with a limited mintage of 45,000 pieces of each.
9 $75 face value 14 karat gold coins, featuring Canadian culture, wildlife, and Olympic themes, will be issued in mintages of only 8,000 each.
Two $2500 face value Kilo gold coins, in mintages of 20 each, are being made. Two $250 face value Kilo silver coins are being produced, with only 2,500 of each issued. Three $300 face value gold coins, one each in 2007, 2008, and 2009. with mintages of 2,500 per coin, are also planned.

Three extra quarters will show Top Olympic Moments. These coins will have bronze, silver, or gold finishes:
The Bronze coin features Men's Hockey (released September 29, 2009). The Silver coin features Wonen's Hockey (released November 17, 2009)
and the Gold Coin features Cindy Klassen, winner of 6 Gold Olympic Medals. (releasd January 5, 2010).
22 million of each will be in circulation with 3 milion each of the coins with a brilliant red maple leaf in the background.
