The FCC said it's heard allegations that the licensee may have used profanity and obscenity on the air and that he may not have identified by call sign. "Information further indicates that on April 20, 2000, you deliberately interfered with communications in progress between the Maritime Mobile Service Net and a maritime station on 14.319 MHz."…. On October 2 and 13 … the licensee "apparently transmitted on 14.310 and 14.313 MHz with a signal not identified by call sign and deliberately interfered with ongoing communications, using profanity and obscenity.”… The operation described "is contrary to the basis and purpose" of the Amateur Service, and if it recurs, the FCC intended to designate Guernsey's station license for revocation and his operator license for suspension for the remainder of its term.

  Personally, I don't believe the hoax was generated by Mr. Morgan. After re-thinking the propagation factors AND the manner in which the CW was sent, I suspect it's a certain someone who has been in previous trouble with the FCC.

• Did anyone hear KZ8O, Mike Guernsey in Kalamazoo, Michigan, hosting his "no contest contest" last weekend, attempting to drive the contesters off of the frequency? I have never heard VE7KFM driving contesters off of the frequency.
  It seems that this forum is completely one sided, and that the antics of KZ80, W4NTI, and K3VR are permitted and even encouraged, while everybody comes down hard on the occasional rant by VE7KFM. [ß Who does NOT even post on ‘QeerZ’!]
  When asked to ID by a contester, he [ß KZ8O] ID'd using cw at about 50 wpm... Even though the FCC rules (which aren't enforced on 14.275 anyway -- ask K3VR) state that automatic devices used for sending ID's in morse have to do so at 20 WPM or less. It took less than a second to send his call -- and his call has 4 characters in it... Do the math.
  Last month, KZ8O was working split -- when nobody else was on the band! Working split was an excuse to stomp on anybody on his calling frequency, and have plausible deniability that he didn't know that anyone was on his calling frequency because he was working split!
  And you people here spend your time worrying about VE7KFM?
  Like I've said before, if we want to clean up the bands, we need to start cleaning them up right here in the USA first.

• I'm curious how the malicious interference was this year.  I operated at K5NA this year.  I had a major problem around 14.281 this year.  I was sucked into a conversation with a station who would not use his call sign.  He told me that I was splattering so I adjusted my mic gain and compression.  The ham thanked me and said it was fixed.  After a few q's he said I was splattering again, I figured out he was playing games.   Soon after he was transmitting recordings of my cq's.  I was able to work through it for a while but my rate suffered so I ended up moving.
  
  In this particular case it was at the beginning of the contest.  I had made a few qso's about starting 15 minutes prior to the contest so I had established that the frequency was not previously used and there were no frequency conflicts.
  
  So how did it go for every one else this year?  I guess in the future I need to add 14.280 to the list of  frequencies to avoid.

• I had this happen when operating in the vicinity of 14.275 MHz. The station who declared he was hearing splatter said his call was KZ8O and he was in Michigan. I checked with a number of other stations in OH and MI after that and got assured that there was no problem. Later NX7TT called me to tell me that this station is famous for making such claims and for recording and replaying a person's transmissions on the air -- horribly over modulated. He did that using my signal and operated about 500 Hz off of my frequency. The splatter was appalling.

• I have been a SW listener for many years, I am also a ham. This guy ( KZ8O ) is the poster child of the true bully. I have taken the time to snoop in his town, and chatted with some of the locals that know him, the hobby shop, his garage and a few and I mean VERY FEW friends, and even a neighbour or two. He then berated him for being in the "General Class band" without proper authorization, and we had to step in and inform this clown that a control operator with Extra Class privileges was sitting next to him. • I feel obligated, now that the forum on EHAM is closed to the thread about the ham who humiliated a young ham on field day, to advise that not just 30 min ago, 2230 EDT, I heard the CQ from K2L. He was loud, clear and with a very narrow and crisp audio. I called him on 14.335, exchanged reports and answered the question with GOD BLESS AMERICA and closed with 73 and thanks for your service. The next ham to come on without benefit of call was the same ham, well known and named in the EHAM forum on Field Day disruption, Fat Mikee. His voice is unmistakable as is his vocabulary. He rudely informed K2L that his audio was distorted and splattering, typical of his MO for QRM. I will admit I was bothered by his behavior and keyed up, saying to K2L that this was no so, his audio was good and that this was the notorious fat one from Michigan. Mikee began a tirade of insults towards me. Reminding me and anyone who would listen that I had been illegally using a foreign call sign, which I used with permission in Spain 25 yrs ago and have since made peace with Riley and received my license, KJ4DVD. None the less, the problem persists. A station barges in on a legitimate special event station, no ID and complaining about an audio problem that does not exist. I think it is time for some kind of remedy for this situation. This is the first time I have ever posted any thing especially of this nature, but I would like to get some opinions on this issue.
