Subject: misfits with big cb radios
Hey Karol,
I hope you are doing well,
and avoiding the flu.
I have been wanting
to write for some time. You are the most entertaining person I have ever
heard on ham radio!
Around Nov. 2005 I was tuning
around 20m for the first time in a long time and I heard a powerful station,
you of course, talking to somebody named George, who I couldn’t hear. You
mentioned he was being jammed and as propagation changed I could hear
all sorts of bizarre, crazy, obvious jamming on frequency. Since then I
have often listened circa 14.275 propagation permitting. (Lately
propagation has sucked.) At first I didn’t know which side to believe, but
after a while I put the puzzle together.
I have never heard YOU
play Klan rally recordings, Nazi songs, ridiculous jingles, inter alia;
the other side always does that.
Nobody owns a frequency of
course, first come first served, I guess. But these jammers often lurk around
and when you or a select few others appear near 14.275 these quarmers gather
and pounce, with train whistles, oddball noises, falsetto commentary, etc. all
of which any habitual listener is well familiar with. (And much of this junk is
unidentified transmissions.) They also put their fake, boring website
containing out-of-context crap (they call it the ‘Center For Mediocre Studies’,
right?). HI HI
But your true website is just
hilarious! Your double entendres, quit wit, and linguistic gifts simply blow
the misfits away! “The Life of Riley” brings tears (of laughter) to my eyes. I
can't wait for the Life of Mikee, or maybe the Life of KI4LUBE !
Recently I heard that the FCC
traveled 150 miles to investigate ONE CB operator allegedly interfering with
ONE TV. So I don't know why the FCC allows the misfits to continue jamming
amateur frequencies, which is certainly heard over North America, and beyond.
I wish that:
1. the top 6 or 7 jammers would lose their licenses
(assuming they have any) for 10 years,
2. they would be fined $5,000 apiece, and
3. their equipment would be confiscated and sold at a big
CB auction.
These quarmers have no
idea what freedom of speech is. Lately they have quit jamming your
transmissions (since they can't overpower you) and started jamming your
receive. Since you talk mostly to Americans, this puts them in the strange
position of jamming their fellow Americans while claiming to be
pro-American. True Americans, e.g. me, defend free speech, we don't jam it. And
you seem to know a lot more about free speech than all of them put together.
(Maybe I am wrong, Karol. Maybe by defending "our" frequencies
against evil Canadians and evil Polish speakers the jammers are "making
the world safe for democracy." HI)

By the way I am in the South
US and when propagation is OK your signal is just booming. If I ever put up a
new 20m antenna I might call you sometime.
